In 1998 we moved to our farm; it was a horrendous move for all of us. However, I somehow took time to notice the tree swallow fledglings learning to fly. It was amazing to watch as they cheered each other on as they took short flights from limb to limb and eventually to the next tree.
This is one of my absolute favorite song birds! One Sunday morning as I watched the sunrise a male cardinal flew in and landed on the clothesline, he was completely illuminated by the sunlight behind him.
