John 9:4  We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.

My cousin, Kristopher caught this sky scene as he left work after completing a four months filling in for a co-worker on leave. He did not want to do this job, however his boss informed him the company needed him to do this job.  On the last day of the 4 month period as Kris was leaving, he looked to the sky to see this scene.  He couldn’t help but feel it was God smiling upon him for doing the job that was asked of him and continuing to let his light shine.

John 1:9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

I was drawn to paint this scene for several reasons; the gold and brown tones would be a definite challenge for me since I normally use minimal earth tones in my work.  Secondly, I loved how the sun reflected light clear through the foreground of the photo and lastly, I was drawn to the peacefulness of the scene.
